| Introduction to My Site |
This page is desiged for anyone who is a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer or is interested in vampires generally. The objective of this page is to interact with fellow watchers of horror (specifically vampire movies) and viewers of BTVS to communicate with one another about future episode, films and basically entertainment based around this genre. For the more serious in mind, there is also the oppurtunity to discuss the possibilty of real vampires (and I am not referring to the mortals who consume human blood for pleasure, majority of them in L.A.). So, if you have anything relevant in the boundaries I described, e-mail me, otherwise I hope you enjoyed your visit.

Vampires are beleived to be mythological, non-existent beings who apparantly have risen from the grave and are in search of human blood. Twentieth century cinema and many writers have portrayed them as tall, dark and seductive beings who persue their victims with their will and intellect rather than ruthless animal fear. Vampires have little significant appearances besides the most common fact of pointy canines and blood shot eyes. These physical appearances true or false, can prove identification rather easily. For instance, no reflection in a mirror, a some what allergic reaction to UV rays and garlic and a phobia to religion, i.e. holy water and crucifix. They are beleived to be immortal, which I personally think is what attracts so many people towards this particular creature. Their hours only spent in darkness is probably what gives rise to their pale complexion and little pigmentation. They have relative to a human far greater strength. They may be able to fly, hence the correlation with the vampire bat, the only mammal capable to sore through the dark skies. This is a just a fraction of what is considered to be some of their properties. There are also factors associated with metamorphism into other animals, for example a bat, wolf and also into smoke/fog as mentioned in the most memorable vampire story ever written. Immortality however can be over-ridden, by as I mentioned before sunlight, behedding and segregation of the grave, combustion and then scattering the remains in sea and probably the easiest method by forcing a wooden stake through the heart of the vampire. Cosses and garlic just slow them down. Where there are vampires, naturally there are their nemesis, the slayers. It is the slayers objective to eliminate these being in order to regain humanity and structure on earth. The slayer hunts the vampire and kills it by any means posssible. Originally the slayer was a man of the church or other religious house, then came the scientist who also had a background in theology but also used the aid of science to get rid of vampires, rather than relying on purely exorcism. Such cases are of the wooden stake which was not used by the Greeks and Romans over two millenias ago. Nowadays, the slayer can literally be anyone, apparantly teenagers have become rather fashionable in this occupation. Henceforth the role of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Buffy is the main character of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, an original movie starring Kirsty Swanson and Donald Sutherland which was shown in 1992 but was not as successful in the big screen as on video. The creator, producer and writer was Joss Whedon, who had the original concept of a teenage Californian with a gift in fashion, cheer-leading and of course the slayage of the dark blood sucking fiends of the night. Many beleive that since Whedon wasn't given full control during production, he was not able to style the movie the way he had initially thought. However, the classification of the film was a slight problem as it was neither a comedy or a horror but a combination of both which raised questions about teenage life as well as the vanquishing the new hosts of the dead civilians of Los Angeles. | What are vampires?
